Earlier this week Epoch, a third-party payment processor, introduced a new product, epassporte Virtual Visa account, that is intended to allow webmasters to bill for previously blocked transactions that might not otherwise be accepted. rnrn
"You want to use epassporte as an option, when there is no other option," Rand Pate, director of corporate communications for Epoch, told AVN.com. rnrn
The new product is similar to the popular Paypal accounts, but designed to meet the needs of adult webmasters and their clients. rnrn
Consumers may place funds into an epassporte account using an existing credit or debit card. One advantage epassporte offers consumers over regular credit cards is that it function as an anonymous way for people to purchase adult entertainment online, without charges appearing on their regular credit card account. It also allows consumers to make purchases from countries where transactions have been blockedrnrn
Once the epassporte account is loaded with stored value, the epassporte Virtual Visa is created instantly, online and ready to use for purchases. Epoch has seamlessly integrated this entire process into its systems.rnrn
Users are charged $5 for every $100 they load into their epassporte account. "The reason there is a load fee is that this is a service. We're not a bank, so there are no finance charges," said Pate. rnrn
Keeping webmasters in mind, Epoch requires a $50 minimum load to activate an account. "You want their to be enough funds in there for at least a trial and conversion," said Pate.rnrn
Once an epassporte account is loaded, the funds placed in it can be transferred to another epassporte account at the click of a button, which Pate suggests is a cheaper way for webmasters to pay affiliates, talent, and other bills. rnrn
According to Pate, the transfer charge for epassporte transactions, which is a minimum of twenty-five cents, are cheaper than those of Pay Pal. rnrn
As an add-on feature, Epoch also offers a the epassporte Visa Electron card, which allows users to access their epassporte funds at ATMs or make purchases at PIN-based merchants where VISA is accepted. rnrn
