Empire Download Manager Launches

Adult DVD Empire has launched the Empire Download Manager to assist and enhance customers’ Video-on-Demand experience.

The Empire Download Manager, or EDM, is a tool for downloading Adult DVD Empire’s Windows Media Video-on-Demand movies. The program is free and is recommended – but not required – to download VoDs at Adult DVD Empire. The only requirements for using the EDM are a browser (Internet Explorer 5.0 or above) and Microsoft Windows 9x, ME, NT, 2000, or XP.

The EDM has a number of features that enhance the VoD experience, including the abilities to restart interrupted downloads, attain faster download speeds, schedule downloads, and download multiple files at one time. If the download process is interrupted, the EDM allows users to resume downloading at the point they were interrupted, thereby saving time and eliminating hassle. With the EDM, users also will have faster download speeds, as the EDM allows the user to split files into several sections and downloads them simultaneously to maximize the speed of the Internet connection.

Scheduling downloads with the EDM gives the user the ability to start, stop, and restart downloads by using the date and time fields of the Schedule Download section. Users can download multiple files with the EDM by beginning several downloads at once, then setting the priority of each and adjusting the traffic usage to continue browsing the Internet at the same time.

The EDM provides total user control when downloading VoD movies. Director of Software Development for Adult DVD Empire David Walter notes, “The EDM eliminates the frustration involved with interrupted downloads and will not require a user to download the entire movie again when a download is interrupted. Even those customers with slower broadband connections will see an increase in performance when downloading movies, which will open the door to VoD with a wider range of customers.”

Walters continues, “We have many more features and services planned for the EDM in the near future which will make it the must-have tool for Video on Demand.”
