HOLLYWOOD - SexZ Pictures has sold out the first DVD pressing of director Eli Cross’ mega-budget sci-fi thriller Upload – and the movie hasn’t yet been released.
“We knew Upload would be big after what happened with Corruption, but I didn’t realize it would be such a monster hit so quickly,” said SexZ Pictures CEO Bo Kenney.
“I was thrilled when I talked to Bo and discovered the movie was already selling well before even being released,” said Cross. “Ren Savant and I have been so deep in editing, neither of us has seen daylight for weeks, so this came as a welcome shock.”
Upload stars AVN’s reigning Female Performer of the Year Hillary Scott and Eva Angelina as adversaries in a futuristic action-adventure scenario. Cross co-wrote the screenplay with Alvin Edwards.
“This is the biggest thing I’ve ever attempted,” said Cross. “I think if I’d really understood how tough this movie was going to be, I wouldn’t have done it. But I’m thrilled with the result.”
Over six months in the making, Upload features a dozen sex scenes and and over 40 actors including Madison Scott, Adrianna Nicole, Lorelei Lee and special guest star Kylie Ireland (who worked overtime behind the scenes as the film's producer, head of art direction and performed in a scene in addition to editing and running camera on the BTS footage.)
A statement released today by PR firm All Media Play proclaimed: “With a growing porn audience looking for captivating storylines to accompany their sex, Cross is doing what no other adult feature movie director has done, as he is the first to alter the static formula of feature-driven sex scenes and replace them with cutting-edge hardcore action.”
“We think there’s a place for serious features with extreme sex,” said Cross. “Corruption proved that the adult audience appreciates a well-made adult movie with gonzo-quality sex. Upload is aimed at that same audience.”
“That’s why we have Eli Cross making movies for us because he brings Hollywood and hardcore sex together in a way nobody else can,” said Kenney.
Upload will be available in stores at the end of September.
