ECVS Finds New Location and New Name

The East Coast Video Show has a new name and a new location, a response to changes in the home entertainment industry. This year the event will take place in Baltimore, Maryland on September 21 and 22, and will be called the Home Entertainment Retail Expo.

The Home Entertainment Retail Expo (HERE) is produced by Home Entertainment Events (HEE).

Located in Atlantic City for many years, HERE has been reformatted and its scope increased in order to attract attendees from other markets such as convenience stores, toy stores, supermarket chains, and mass merchant retailers who generate substantial revenues from home video sales.

“The improvements that are being made to the programming of this show reflect the growth and expansion of the industry,” said Carrie Dieterich, spokesperson for HEE. “There will be a new focus on other aspects of the industry such as video games, music, and Spanish language programming.”

Described as “the year-end marketplace for the East Coast’s home entertainment industry,” the Home Entertainment Retail Expo presents the best opportunity for video retailers in the region to learn about fourth quarter DVD and video releases as well as new trends in television, games, music, and other special interest DVDs.

At the show, retailers will review the latest accessories and services from approximately 100 exhibitors from both mainstream and adult companies. The exhibit floor will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.

Companies interested in exhibiting may contact Home Entertainment Events’ Kimbirly Orr at [email protected] (mainstream companies) or Janet Gibson at [email protected] (adult companies). They may also be reached by phone at 1-800-854-3112.
