Dutch Porn Star’s Show Gets Axed

Despite the Netherlands’ liberal attitudes about sex and some drugs, Dutch porn star Kim Holland’s reality show was canceled after just two episodes by nervous network officials.

Holland, a former Jehovah’s Witness–turned adult performer, told the local press and Reuters that she was surprised by her show’s cancellation.

Her show, “Op z’n Hollands,” or “The Dutch Way,” was broadcast on the Talpa TV network owned by Jon De Mol whose production company produces top U.S. reality shows like “Big Brother,” “Fear Factor,” and “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”

The networks said it canceled Holland’s show because it was deemed unsuitable for family viewing. The show followed Holland around in her daily life and included segments where she gave sexual advice.

The show was scheduled to air eight episodes and was produced by the Eyeworks production company.

Holland said she hopes another network will pick up the show, but admitted none had come forward so far.

Holland is known for getting her start in the adult industry by taping herself masturbating and then selling the tapes through classified ads in Dutch newspapers.
