Director Nathan Strausse Releases Vignette

CHATSWORTH, Calif. – Director and fetish photographer Nathan Strausse has released his first adult video, Vignette.

“The movie is an exploration of sexuality and perversion,” Strausse told AVN. “Organic and largely voyeuristic, Vignette brings to the audience a more personal side to the subject of fetish and kink. Vignette’s visuals are also heightened with an original soundtrack composed by the underground group, I.M.C.”

Originally from New Jersey, Strausse moved to Los Angeles via San Francisco in 1998 to get closer to the film industry. After building up his repertoire of directing, lighting and story in mainstream films, he began working with acclaimed adult director Andrew Blake.

“I worked with [Blake] on and off for about six years,” said Strausse. “I was really interested in his style, because I’ve always been into stuff that was much more than just straightforward porn. I was doing a lot of stuff with mainstream films, like documentaries, but I’ve always strove to be a director. I started shooting stills of the girls, and a lot of the girls I was working with wanted me to shoot something with them on film…that’s sort of what Vignette is…it’s that process.”

The director said the transition from still photographer to director came naturally to him. “I came out of the film world. And I suppose there’s always the fact that you’re dealing with really personal stuff, but after knowing the girls and working with them, they got comfortable with me.”

Strausse is self-distributing Vignette through his website. “I design the covers and do all of the packaging. I kind of like to keep control over that stuff,” he laughed. “The interest for the movie is growing now, which is great.”

Strausse said his next adult title will have a Shibari (Japanese bondage) theme.
