Film director Mike Nichols says he burned footage of a nude Natalie Portman from his film "Closer" to protect the 24-year-old star from seeing the images on the Internet.
Portman told Vanity Fair magazine that Nichols cut the scenes from the 2004 movie showing full frontal nudity of Portman, saying the scenes were too “raunchy” and thus unacceptable. Last year, Nichols said shots of Portman topless remained in the movie but said he promised her to eliminate the footage to protect her from having the images posted on the Internet.
“I will not allow myself to be on a porn site,” she told the magazine.
Portman played a stripper in the movie, opposite Jude law and Julia Roberts.
