Director Bud Lee Flying High Again for Spice Studios

On Feb. 22, Spice Studios will release director Bud Lee's big-budget video feature Fly Spice 2: Pacific Rimmed.

Shot in high-def, Fly Spice 2: Pacific Rimmed stars Michelle Maylene, Kaiya Lynn, Nyomi Marcela, Mikayla, Avy Scott and Syren with Kyle Stone, Cheyne Collins, Nick Manning, Evan Stone and Nick East. Award-winning director Lee shot the sequel back-to-back with his original series entry, Fly Spice: The Virgin Flight.

"In the first one, they took off on their very first flight – they got twisted around and ended up in Tokyo," Lee explained. "That's where the sequel picks up. Basically, they make a deal with the Japanese government to hire a bunch of Asian girls as flight attendants."

To create the backdrop for his Fly Spice movies, Lee utilized airplane fuselages and sets from aviation soundstage Air Hollywood, which has serviced numerous mainstream productions including the 2004 comedy Soul Plane.

"We really enjoyed making it," Lee said of the new movie. "It has a tremendous amount of production value, and some great sex; the three-way between Syren, Evan Stone and Nyomi Marcela is amazing. I'm not a big girl/girl fan, but the scene between Kaiya Lynn and Mikayla was really good, too."

The Playboy-owned Spice Studios aims to produce upscale features with gonzo-style sex. "I think we've seen a trend in audiences, distributors and retailers asking for material that's more defendable," Lee said. "They want scripted features with nice wardrobe, makeup, lighting and editing. Although the importance of where those features fall [in the marketplace] is changing, we've still got to make that product, because it's what our hard-line customers have been looking for."
