VAN NUYS, Calif.—Digital Playground has signed a VOD distribution partnership with Marc Dorcel whereby Dorcel would deliver the studio’s content to more than 18 European countries and 50 TV networks and platforms.
With this deal, Dorcel will provide Digital Playground’s content, for the first time in Europe, instant access to DP’s movies featuring the largest high-definition adult library.
In January 2010, DP launched on VOD to more than 30 million homes in both North America and in international markets. Since then, DP On Demand penetration continues to expand with more than 105 affiliates in the US and Canada.
"Our VOD partnership with Marc Dorcel is unprecedented because never before have two such dominant adult brands joined forces in this capacity," Digital Playground founder and award-winning director Joone said. "We are very excited to further expand the reach of our high quality adult entertainment to new audiences."
Since Dorcel’s launch into VOD in 2002 on DorcelVision.com, the network has grown and now is available on more than 50 VOD platforms around Europe. With this distribution deal, Digital Playground's reach extends all over the U.S., Canada and Europe.
“Since their creation, Marc Dorcel’s VOD services are in search of high quality content. We are glad to join forces with one of the most successful American brands and partner with Digital Playground with whom we share the same taste of excellence,” Marc Dorcel CEO Grégory Dorcel said.
Dorcel will distribute Digital Playground On-Demand in all markets where they are currently offered as well as on 14 IPTV, cable and web platforms owned by the company. Customers in Europe now can enjoy Digital Playground movies on-demand by just clicking on the Digital Playground button.
"We take such pride in our productions and being aligned with such a well respected entity like Marc Dorcel is a win-win for both of our companies,” Digital Playground CEO Samantha Lewis said. “Plus, the instant access of VOD makes it a rewarding deal for consumers as well."
