VAN NUYS, Calif. - Digital Playground has announced an international Pirates II: Stagnetti's Revenge MySpace Fan Contest as the company accelerates the marketing campaign for the highly anticipated release.
On the heels of unveiling of the first trailer for the movie, the company reports that fans are already hungry for more of the movie and Digital Playground contract star Jesse Jane. So Digital Playground is rewarding its fans for their devotion by giving the three fan pages with the most MySpace friends some special prizes.
The grand prize is a Sony PS3, plus a signed Blu-ray copy of Pirates and Pirates II. Second prize is a signed copy of Pirates and Pirates II, either Blu-ray or DVD. Third prize is a signed copy of Pirates II, either Blu-ray or DVD. Winners will be announced at the conclusion of the contest - at 1 p.m. PST on March 31, 2009.

The rules are simple. Fan pages may only qualify by contacting Digital Playground at myspace.com/digitalplayground and providing a message with a link to the page. The company said that if the page contains "an appropriate amount of Pirates II flair" and was created after Sept. 1, 2008, it will then be approved to participate in the contest. The three pages with the most fans will win the three prizes in descending order of total friends.
Digital Playground reserves the right to disqualify contestants based on inappropriate material. MySpace pages may not contain nudity and should refrain from offensive language. Digital Playground may also disqualify contestants based on a lack of a Pirates II themed MySpace page.
"The true fans go above and beyond the mere copy and pasting of graphics," the company said in a press release making the announcement. "Be creative, be outrageous, be the greatest Pirates II fan ever!"
"MySpace has been an amazing resource for putting us in direct contact with our fans," said Samantha Lewis, Digital Playground's CEO. "'Pirates and Pirates II have developed massive followings on MySpace, and many fans have already taken it upon themselves to show their love and support. Pirates II: Stagnetti's Revenge stars Digital Playground contract girls Jesse Jane, Shay Jordan, Katsuni, Stoya, Riley Steele and Gabriella Fox. The movie co-stars Belladonna, Sasha Grey, Jenna Haze, Brianna Love, Abbey Brooks, Shawna Lenee, Rhylee Richards, Brea Lynn, Shyla Stylez and Veronica Rayne.
Evan Stone, Tommy Gunn, and Steven St. Croix reprise their roles from the original Pirates. Pirates II also includes industry studs Manuel Ferrara, James Deen, Marco Banderas, Mick Blue, Ben English and Charles Dera. It was directed by AVN award-winner Joone, and produced by Joone and his business partner Samantha Lewis. The release date on DVD and Blu-ray is Sept. 27.
