Adult DVD Empire announced the winners of their second annual Empire and Gay Empire Awards earlier today. Digital Playground's Rush won five awards, leading Digital Playground to seven awards, though it was Wicked Pictures that won the award for Best DVD Studio.
Rush was named the Best Feature DVD, swept the technical categories for Audio and Video Quality, snagged the Best DVD commentary, as well as winning the fan-decided Viewer's Choice Award.
Digital Playground's Island Fever won Best Selling DVD for the second year in a row and their Virtual Sex with Janine won the Best Interactive DVD Award.
"We worked really hard this year to put out the best titles we could and it paid off. I'm still in shock, we've never swept an award show before. It feels really good," said Digital Playground president Samantha Lewis.
Wicked Pictures' Euphoria won the Editor's Choice Award, the award for Best Overall DVD, and Best DVD extras. The adult studio itself was selected as Best DVD Studio.
"I'm very honored to have received these awards. It's nice to see to see the award for best overall DVD studio; It's a nice confirmation of our commitment to excellence," David Crawford, director of DVD production for Wicked Pictures, told AVN.com.
Private's Private Gladiator won for both Best Foreign DVD and Best DVD Menus. Private also nabbed two awards in the Gay Empire Awards, also announced today, with Sword Master winning the Editor's Choice Award and the DVD Video Quality Award.
