Delaware to Fight Tonight

Adult performer Dick Delaware will return to the cage tonight for a heavyweight fight in the Universal Above Ground Fighting (UAGF) organization.

Delaware (24-10-1), a.k.a. Aaron Brink, will meet John Mierzwa in the co-main event at the LA Entertainment Center at 333 S. Boylston in downtown LA. This will be his first fight since March 25, when he lost a unanimous decision to Mike Whitehead in the UAGF.

Mierzwa’s pro mixed-martial-arts record is 4-2, so Delaware enters the bout as the favorite based on experience.

“Professionally speaking, I can’t afford to take anybody lightly now,” said Delaware, who is 6-foot-3, 218 pounds. “My opponent looks very good and I don’t have any business underestimating anybody. I’ve been in the game too long. I’m a journeyman in this sport.”

A victory could keep Delaware in the mix to be on the third season of Spike TV’s hit reality show “The Ultimate Fighter.” Season two starts airing in August.

“I’m training every single day and taking it seriously," Delaware said. "I’m refraining from bad things that I shouldn’t be doing."

Illusion Pictures will also be filming live footage for a mainstream movie called Week tonight. Tickets are $35 and the fight is expected to start about 8.

Delaware said immediately after tonight’s bout, he would fly to Reno, Nev., to get ready for another fight on Saturday night for the IFC organization, though details were not available at press time.
