Defiance Films, a new high end gonzo company that shoots and edits everything in High Definition, will start competing in the adult marketplace in June.
According to sales and marketing director Anthony Simone, their June blitz will consist of four titles: Pleasure, Teen Hand Jobs, the interracial Slick Chicks, Black Dicks and a still untitled big boob movie. Hand Jobs, the first movie they shot, is their only title—ever—not in HD.
After June, Simone told AVN.com, “We’re going to go to two releases a month until we really get rolling. Then we’ll bump up to three and eventually we’ll probably hit one a week.”
Simone headed national sales at Metro for two years, leaving the company in February. “I needed a fresh breath and a chance to be a little more creative,” he said.
Norman Bentley, who’s in charge of production and quality control, is a specialist in “HD technologies” who comes from mainstream entertainment. “I worked with HBO, did a lot of commercials, ended up hooking up with Penthouse for a while, and then started Matrix Content,” he said.
Defiance, he said, will be distributing some titles from the highly regarded Matrix line. “Just like Matrix did—we came out of the gates just surpassing everyone—and that’s what I want to do with Defiance, stepping it up three, four notches.”
Bentley is directing the big boob title, but, said Simone, “We’re trying to use a bunch of different directors. We want things to look different. Companies bring a director under contract and everything starts to look the same. We’re trying to really keep it fresh.”
Bentley said they’ve been in production for about a month and will have a substantial number of scenes by the time of their June launch. “We’re taking our time, crossing out T’s and dotting all out I’s,” he said. “We just want to come out really strong.”
Pleasure, the two agreed, is their keystone release. Subtitled “Pleasure Is Where You Find It,” it features three boy-girl anal scenes, plus an all-girl four-way with Monica Sweetheart, Rita Faltoyano, Paola Rey and Monica Mayhem.
“It’s a great scene that we’re all high on,” Bentley said. “They’re all gorgeous. If you just put ‘em in a room and had them play poker it would be great, but with the sex it’s tremendous.”
Also in the Pleasure cast are Jasmine Byrne and newcomer Samantha Ryan.
