AVN 2000 Best New Starlet nominee Jewel De'Nyle is looking a little bit ahead these days - her New Sensations contract has one more picture to go, now that she's finished Dark Angel, and she's ready, she says, to take the next step forward. nrnShe also confirms speculation that she's in a relationship - with Jasmin St. Claire - and, while not entirely giving up on men, tiring of what she saw as men who have "porn hangups" when dating her, even if they're also in the porn industry. nrnFirst, her working life and her New Sensations contract. "I'm leaving on good terms," De'Nyle told AVN's Gene Ross."Nothing bad? I've been with (New Sensations) for two years under contract. I need to put out more than three movies a year, and that's all I put out last year. That made it a little hard on me to go out on the road dancing. But the stuff they did put out was fantastic." nrnShe said she's "in negotiations" in hopes of landing a deal with another company, possibly VCA. "I'm going to try out VCA," she said. "If VCA doesn't work, maybe Metro. I have some offers and deals on the plate, but I have to finish up my obligations first." nrnDe'Nyle also confirmed speculation that she is an item with Jasmin St. Claire. "We've been fooling around for awhile," she told Ross. "We just decided that we suck at men and relationships and that it's better just to fuck. Jasmin and I pick the worst of the worst. nrn"We pick the loser crop," she continued. "We pick the worst guys to go out with, I'm not kidding. The guys we pick are from the same cloth. It's just terrible... we're not writing guys off but we've decided that we'll be more lesbian with each other before seriously dating any boys. We'll go out with guys as fuck-buddies, separate or together. But we've decided that it's better for us to be with each other because it doubles our wardrobe. We're the same size. I'm a little shorter than her, but we're two small people so we fit into the same things. And we don't have our hangups." nrnOne problem with "these guys," De'Nyle told Ross, is "a hangup about the porn thing even if they're in porn. I'll date a guy who's in porn and he hates the fact I'm in porn. It's a double standard and that's a bullshit. I'll tell him I don't have a problem with you doing porn, how come you have a problem with me. nrn"Jasmin has the same problems. When we get close to these guys who are in the business or guys outside of it who think that it's cool for the first week, after that they all get weirded-out. That's why we decided to become lesbians. Jasmin has a boyfriend right now, but it's an on-off-thing." nrnDe'Nyle had arrived at a Free Speech Coalition fundraiser at Bob's Classy Lady with Jonathan Morgan, but she told Ross she did it as a friend. "I went there because it was a Wicked-VCA thing and he didn't want to go by himself," she said.
