Recently restructured Dane Productions says it has gotten a huge spike in sales with the recent release of Latinas Sabrosas, a dual language English/Spanish option DVD.
Company owner Edward Cohen said the two language-option has created a deeper and more diversified customer base for the disc, which has more than doubled initial sales.
“We are delighted with the current success we are having with this title,” Cohen said. “Who would have thought that shooting both languages would be such a great idea?”
He said a separate broadcast deal was completed as store orders soared, highlighted by an additional 1,200-piece order from the Prism Marketing Group.
Prism, which specializes in selling to under serviced geographical areas with an emphasis on Spanish-friendly audiences, jumped at the chance to take on Latina Sabrosas, Cohen said.
Shaul Saulisbury, who heads the five-year-old Prism Group, said he’s very bullish about the restructured Dane, in particular, their dual language titles.
“The performers are speaking Espanol, which is very good for our customers, and we really like the fact that it’s shot extremely well with really good-looking girls,” Saulisbury said.
Specific marketing is part of Dane’s overall strategy aimed at bringing the company back to the top of its game, Cohen said. Despite some counterfeiting problems, he said Dane’s flagship lines, Nineteen and University Co-eds,continue to be strong anchors.
Cohen said Latina Sabrosas is the first in what is planned to be a long running dual language set of DVDs. Performers are shot speaking both the English and Spanish dialogue, which requires more production time and higher overall budgets, he noted.
“We think it is worth it to give our customers the best possible product even though it costs us more to make,” he said.
Latina Sabrosas is in stores now with both hard and soft box covers. Dane, meanwhile, has already wrapped production on Latina Sabrosas 2, which Cohen said can best be described as a Mexican soap opera gone porno.
