Dana DeArmond to Guest Lecture at UC Irvine

CHATSWORTH, Calif. – Starlet Dana DeArmond and her performer/boyfriend, Daniel, will be guest lecturers at the University of California Irvine for a Sociology of Sexuality class on Thursday. The pair will bring along some of their adult titles, show video clips and answer questions from students.

According to DeArmond, the class will explore the sex industry as a place where gender, race, class, and sexuality intersect. “This was the same course that Belladonna spoke to last year,” she told AVN. “They wanted the perspective of two people that are in a relationship, and work in the adult industry. I work both in front of and behind the camera and Daniel is a performer, so we’ll be talking a lot about how our relationship is affected by porn.

“The question I probably get asked most often is ‘what does your boyfriend think of your work?’ And I tell them, ‘he’s a whore too,’” DeArmond laughed.

DeArmond’s next directorial effort is Dana DeArmond’s Role Modeling, which is due out in December from Vivid-Alt. She sees a link between the movie and her upcoming lecture. “A lot of the movie is about how and why people get into porn and what it does to their relationships. I also think that the discussion will move into talks about other types of non-traditional relationships like polyamory.”

This won’t be the first time that DeArmond has spoken to college students about the industry. She and director Eon McKai visited UC Santa Barbara last year. “It went really great. I had a lot of fans in the class. Hopefully, I’ll have a lot of fans in Irvine as well.”
