Dan Richards Returns to Movie Gallery

After a three-week absence, industry veteran Dan Richards has reassumed his position as director of purchasing for Movie Gallery, one of the largest chain store buyers in the United States. Richards had announced his resignation in November, stating that he would be taking up new employment outside the adult industry.

On Nov. 17, Richards left Movie Gallery to join the Cultural Arts Center in Dothan, Ala., as its new executive director. He told AVN.com that "even though the Cultural Arts Center is a wonderful organization, they have a lot of building to do…it just wasn’t the right fit for me at the time. I started to realize that the job I was taking on was much bigger than the one I had signed up for."

DVD buyer Carrie Parrish was poised to replace Richards, but in a turnabout, Parrish has retired, and is now working outside the industry.

Parrish was not available for comment at press time.

Richards went on to say that now that he has been back with Movie Gallery for a little over a week, he is settling back into things again. "It’s great, but I’m realizing now that I have a lot of work to do before the end of the year."
