Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders Get Reality Show

The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will star in a new reality show set to air in April on cable’s Country Music Television or CMT channel, according to the Hollywood Reporter today.

The show, produced by Touchdown Television, will focus on the troupe’s auditioning process which gathers nearly 200 hopefuls each year.

The program will feature the troupe’s veteran director Kelli McGonagill Finglass, choreographer Judi Trammel and former army drill sergeant Jay Johnson who will work with the 1,000 aspiring cheerleaders as they whittle group down to the final 40 squad members.

Each girl will undergo a series of tests to prove their dancing and interpersonal skills, but also their knowledge of football, producers said.

Although the series is eight episodes long, the tryout process took four months before the final group was selected and performed in the team’s first pre-season game last September.

The cheerleaders are known for their revealing uniforms, bikini calendars and videos.
