DVSX Adds Four New Directors

DVSX has signed directors Bobby Manila, Craven Moorehead, Paulo Banana and Mofo.

The company, which also recently named Ed Kail its national sales manager, had been seeking to hire a director after the departure of its veteran director Guy Capo, said Alex Ladd, who owns the company with partner Javier C.

“When Guy left, we had a huge hole that we had to fill, so we started thinking about who we wanted to go after,” Ladd said.

“We knew we wanted these four guys, so we were lucky and got them.”

Ladd said each director has different strengths, giving the company greater variety to a production’s look and feel.

“Paulo shoots great. He’s more of a dialogue person and storyteller,” he said. “Bobby [Manila] has a great ‘in your face’ style of camera movement that’s great for gonzo, and Craven and Mofo are both great leaders who take control of a situation.”

Manila recently completed work on the second editions of Fine Ass Bitches, Freak Nasty and Pass the Cream for the company.

Moorehead, who just finished work on the company’s Fucking Hostile and Off the Rack 5, has begun shooting a new teen title.

“I heard a lot of good things about (DVSX) and I love to shoot gonzo so it’s great to come over,” said Moorehead, who is known for his work with Peter North.

Banana is currently shooting Grudgefuck, part of a popular series that recently won Best Vignette Series at the AVN Awards.
