DUDE DORM ABOUT TO OPEN

VoyeurDorm's creators are taking no chances with DudeDorm. They're planning to open the all-male Web site later this month from an undisclosed location, hoping to avoid the kind of grappling with local authorities that caused VoyeurDorm's temporary closure. DudeDorm (www.dudedorm.com) expects to catch an audience of women and gay men alike, showing five men ages 19-23 sharing a house equipped with video cameras in every room. Member subscribers will have 24/7 access to live images and E-mail exchanges with the men. VoyeurDorm's managing partner, Entertainment Network vice president Bruce Hammil, said DudeDorm's five residents attend Tampa-area colleges.

The city of Tampa ordered VoyeurDorm shut down in August for zoning violations barring adult entertainment businesses in residential neighborhoods, but VoyeurDorm remains open. Entertainment Network has sued the city over the issue, saying the house does not violate zoning because all business is done over the Internet and no customers visit the house in person. Hammil said the case would set a precedent for all home-based Web businesses. "We are prepared to take this all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court if necessary."

Live Webcasts from DudeDorm are scheduled to begin in the middle of November
