DOCUFILM TWEAKS DEBATE ON SWEDISH PORN

In the wake of the gang rape of a 14-year-old girl, a documentary analyzing porn films broadcast in Sweden has re-opened a heated debate on showing explicit sex on television.

The film is called The Shocking Truth, which Reuters says was first broadcast Feb. 13 and is set to be shown in Swedish Parliament Feb. 16.

Two weeks earlier, nine teenagers were questioned by police regarding the rape of a 14-year-old girl in Stockholm, Reuters says. ``People are asking if maybe these young boys have watched too many of these porn movies late at night,'' says Goran Ellung, an editor of documentaries at a station that show an edited version of the show.

``We've never shown anything as explicit as this before but when this kind of debate is going on in society, people want to know what these films are all about and if they do go too far,'' he tells Reuters.

Directed by Alexa Wolf, The Shocking Truth studies films shown in Sweden from the viewpoint of a former porn actress, including excerpts from films and her experiences in the business.
