DEATH THREAT WRAPS UP NAKED STORE PROMO

The Kleider Bauer clothing chain's naked shopping promotion has ended far sooner than the store expected - thanks to a death threat to a store manager.

The chain had offered $385 worth of free clothing to the first five shoppers each week who entered the stores in the nude and got as far as the checkout counter. Stores were jammed when the promotion began Feb. 28.

But the chain tells Reuters there had been several irate complaints to police as well as the death threat. A chain spokesman said most customers appreciated the promotion, but it wasn't worth exposing workers to personal attacks and even murder threats.
