The fifth annual Cybersocket Awards were held January 5 at the Gypsy Nightclub to honor the best in gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender web sites. Among the winners was NakedSword (www.nakedsword.com), which took home three industry choice awards and two surfer’s choice awards – on both sides for best video streaming site, surfer’s choice for best porn blog (www.gaypornblog.com), industry choice for best show, Wet Palms (www.wetpalms.com), and industry choice for best web site developer, parent company Cubik Media (www.cubik.com). Another bug winner was renowned director Chi Chi LaRue, who won for best specialty adult pay site (www.chichilarue.com) on both sides and Live And Raw 1-on-1 (www.liveandraw1on1.com), which won the industry award for best voyeur site.
Cybersocket owner Morgan Sommer told AVNOnline.com, “This year’s Awards were a fun and successful event. We had a wide variety of Websites nominated by a panel of industry judges, then we democratized the voting as much as technically possible, and the surfers chose the winners in the surfer's choice category, and our peers chose the winners in the industry choice category. It was especially interesting to see who chose what in the individual categories. Of course, if we could have fixed the results we would have, but unfortunately we're not smart enough.”
He added, “I think this year was the best year. So many people won awards in so many categories that it pretty much shut up the detractors, many of whom also won awards.”
