Katie Holmes’ 12-second nude sex scene in the upcoming film Thank You for Smoking, has been cut after Holmes’ fiancée, Tom Cruise, voiced his objection to producers.
According to the New York Post, Cruise was upset following the film’s screening at the Toronto Film Festival last fall, telling producers that he wanted the scene cut. By the time the film was screened last week at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, the offending scene was missing.
Director Jason Reitman has denied that Cruise exerted any influence on the production, adding that the missing scene would be included when the film opens next month.
In the film, Holmes plays a journalist who hooks up with a tobacco lobbyist, played by Aaron Eckhart.
