Crosson Moves to DateApp.com

After resigning as the president of Friend Finder’s marketing group, Medley.com earlier this month, Michael Crosson has joined the advisory board for DateApp’s Dating Network for Special Projects, the company announced.

Crosson was first introduced to DateApp when Friend Finder evaluated the start-up and later continued a dialogue with CEO John Michael Cataldi.

“[When we started talking] we had some technologies that we thought we could partner with Friend Finder. Mike left Friend Finder not too long ago and we kept in communication. Based on some of his ideas that were implemented at Friend Finder and especially with some of the new projects we were working on, it seemed like a match made in heaven,” Cataldi told AVNOnline.com.

Crosson brings 17 years of experience to the DateApp team and has worked with such companies as Flipside, MapQuest, AOL, e-coupons, and Inc Magazine Online.

“I am pleased to be an active participant on DateApp’s Advisory Board. Given my exposure to the industry as a whole, I have the utmost belief that DateApp will become a major force in the industry. Two technologies, soon to be released, have increased paid member conversions five times higher than the industry average; that’s huge for DateApp’s partner webmasters,” Crosson said in a statement.

What has also been huge is the company’s growth. Cataldi said they are adding an average of five new portals a day, 1,500 to date. DateApp forecasts 500,000 members by midyear and more than 1 million by the end of the year.

“It’s funny because it seems that some days our webmaster community is growing faster than our membership community,” he said. “It’s really the aggregate of all the portals that is adding to our memberships.”
