Several weeks after his conviction for raping a little girl, Patrick Ryan McKinney faces "centuries" behind bars for child porn, following his March 31 conviction for hunting, saving, then watching "graphic child porn" on his family computer.
McKinney already faces life imprisonment for the child rape conviction, but he is also looking at a potential sentence of 200 years in the child porn case, which was provoked when his then-wife, Colleen O'Bleness, called police after finding a child porn image on the computer.
His jury had to watch a reported 20 video clips - material McKinney apparently kept on the computer - and hear testimony from an 8-year-old girl who lived in his home and who was said to have been shown child porn imagery by McKinney, according to KELO-TV.
O'Bleness told KELO she was "relieved the truth came out. "I could have very easily divorced him and got him out of the life of my children," she told the station, "but I chose to stand up for other people and to make sure that he wasn't going to hurt anybody else."
McKinney's defense included his attorneys trying to prove that the child porn images on the computer had been put there by either his then wife or a hacker.

CHICAGO - Bond for suspended charter school principal Joseph T. Nurek was set at $500,000 April 1, in a case where Nurek is accused of having over three thousand child porn images on his computer. Prosecutors wanted him detained until his trial, but a judge ordered that Nurek post his home and a brokerage account to secure the bond, according to WBBM radio.
HOMEWOOD, Ill. - A U.S. Immigration and Customs tip prodded police here to probe and arrest elementary school counselor Eugene Dooley on two counts of child porn, after a preliminary exam of the home computer and disks police seized turned up numerous child porn images. Dooley was suspended from Millennium School, but there was no indication he used school computers or that local children were present in the images under investigation, according to the Daily Southtown.
TORONTO - Police arrested Daniel Krajny April 1 and charged him with a number of child porn offenses including involvement in "a sophisticated Website that is the target of an international investigation," according to the Toronto Star.
MANSFIELD, Texas - A comment to a nine-year-old girl provoked a police probe and the arrest of a 48-year-old man who gave police another surprise - a confession that he had some child porn on his home computer, leading to a search and five child porn possession charges, according to Dallas NBC.
CARY, Ill. - Barrington High School swim coach Lawrence K. Swager is swimming in three counts of child porn possession, five months after U.S. Immigration and Customs officials tipped off local law enforcement that Swager might have downloaded Internet child porn, according to the Cary-Grove Countryside.
PONTIAC, Mich. - Former Oakland County Sheriff's Deputy John Comez pleaded guilty March 30 to twenty counts of using his home computer to see and distribute child porn. Police were said to have confiscated about 4,500 images as well as videotapes and CDs of young children in various sexual acts from his home, according to the Associated Press.
