Comprehensive Marketing

Adella O'Neal, formerly of Zane, formerly of Private Video USA, now heads her own company, Comprehensive Marketing. One might gather from it's name that O'Neal specializes in marketing, and you would be correct in assuming so. Also throw in some public relations expertise to go with the mix.

O'Neal: "I think that marketing is one of those things that companies, if they're not doing great, financially, tend to cut. It's the icing on the cake. That's what marketing is sometimes. For me, it's kinda been my story. A couple of years, here. A couple of years there. Basically it's a financial thing. So I was thinking that it's kind of an insecure feeling to always lose your job. Yet, at the same time I know I'm really good at what I do so I thought it would be better for me to go out on my own.

"I do any type of publicity or hype generating. If have a consultation. If someone wants to generate something that's newsworthy, and have no idea what angle to take to make it newsworthy, I can do all of that. I can prepare press kits and releases and things like that."

While she's generating mainstream clients, O'Neal says she will hang on to the adult business. "It's been the bread and butter for me," she says. "That's been my niche for the longest amount of time. I know everybody in the adult business and have the U.S. and foreign press contacts."

O'Neal, a broadcasting communications major, and a veteran of bikini contests, says she's been friends with Shane since they were little and gravitated into the business right behind her when Shane began working with Seymore Butts. O'Neal said she didn't go into journalism because starting salaries are not that great, but she says her extracurricular background in wrestling vids and aforesaid contests gave her some perspective about the adult business. "But I wouldn't feel comfortable, personally, about having sex on film," she adds. "If I coouldn't tell my grandma about something I was doing in my life, then I didn't do it."

O'Neal: "All that stuff paid great when I was working through college, but starting out at those salaries, it was never going to work. It was Shane who told me to talk to Bob East at Odyssey. A couple of weeks later I went on board with Private. The day I left Private I got a call from Bert Levesque at Zane and a week later started with the company. Those jobs gave me a good feel for the business. O'Neal can be reached either at 818-701-0390 or 310-614-6312
