Clyde DeWitt Leaves Longtime Law Firm

LAS VEGAS - Attorney Clyde DeWitt has left the firm of Weston, Garrou & Dewitt, his practice for 27 years. As of Feb. 1, Dewitt is “of counsel” to the law firm of Allen and Wohrle, partners once employed by his former firm.

“My decision to leave was a difficult one,” Dewitt told AVN. “I was with the firm for 27 years, which exhibits considerable loyalty. Most non-lawyers are not aware of it, but that is an almost unheard-of length of time for any lawyer to stay with the same firm.”

Based in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, DeWitt, has specialized in adult litigation since 1980. He has handled everything from obscenity trials to legalities involving trademarks, copyrights, unfair competition, business considerations, and CAN-SPAM.

Dewitt describes his departure from the firm as amicable, stating, “When I told them of my decision, we all immediately agreed that my departure would not interfere with our friendship. In fact, I am still working with them on several matters.”

Prior to his former firm, DeWitt worked for 7 years at the DA’s office. For the last 17 years he has informed readers of legal news, developments in cases and editorial comment about legal developments and trends through his monthly columns in AVN and AVN Online.

Dewitt’s new Los Angeles offices are located at 11755 Wilshire Boulevard, Suite 1450

Los Angeles, CA 90025 (310-477-9370). His Vegas offices remain at 732 South Sixth Street, Las Vegas, NV 89101 (702-386-2109). Dewitt can also be reached via EFax at (310) 362-8667 and at his email address [email protected].

“Not too many people start a new job at my age,” DeWitt quipped, “I have been with only two organizations since law school.”

AVN wishes DeWitt continued success.
