Adult director Laurent Sky works hard for his art.
The multi AVN Award-winning helmer of such titles as Raw Desire and Porno Revolution has recently completed his next project for his production company, Skyworld Productions (distributed by Club Jenna), called Deep In Style. The title begins shipping on Thursday.
Sky said that the movie had him shooting at locations as far away as Budapest and Prague, and then returning for a few scenes in Los Angeles. “Shooting the title is just part of the process,” Sky told AVN.com. “It usually takes us seven or eight days to shoot the film, and for this particular movie, we spent two months, just in editing…we had to cut and re-cut. And then we once again made music especially for this title.” Sky even added some specially-made animation clips to Deep In Style, of which he said he’s very happy.
“I think we’ll add even more animation to the next project.”
Deep In Style stars Club Jenna Girl, Jesse Capelli, alongside Natalia Cruze, Charmane Star, Boo, Melissa Lauren, Shy Love, Talon, Sascha, Travis Knight, Frank Gun and Jerry. Sky said of box cover girl Capelli, “She has a pure beauty. I believe that she’s one the most beautiful girls in this business.”
“I loved working with Laurent,” Capelli told AVN.com. “He really knows how to get the most out of his performers.”
Sky went on to say that, like his previous movies, this title will have a similar, carefully procured aesthetic feel. “Deep In Style has the same unique concept and style that we’ve developed, starting with Raw Desire. We try to keep things edgy and modern, and we do things in a very specific way….elaborate imagery, elaborate effects and great editing that allows us to make a specific kind of movie.”
Sky said he tries to steer clear of corny, canned dialogue as well. “We’ve always tried to stay away from certain types of dialogue…the stuff that doesn’t feel real,” explained the director. “I still feel like dialogue is very important, and I have strong opinions, so I try to make statements and express political opinions and even make jokes in my movies. The dialogue is always carefully measured.”
Howard Levine, national sales manager for Vivid, told AVN.com that he sees Sky’s newest production as “a sexual extravaganza.”
“This movie has some amazing, hard sex in it,” continued Levine. “And it’s shot so well…the sound and lighting are great.”
As is the case with Deep In Style, Sky said that he is always trying to negotiate the compromise between hardcore sex and softcore beauty. “I’m trying to push things as much as I can. I don’t want my movies to be so soft, they’re boring…I want to make something people can masturbate to…but I also have to keep the softcore aspects in mind.”
“Because our production company only puts out four to six movies a year, I have the luxury of taking my time with each product.”
Sky said that his next movie will be shot in Argentina, Brazil and Paris.
Deep In Style ships Thursday for street date of Aug. 31.
