With a new look, and a just-begun orientation to site membership, fetish video producers Redboard.com will offer a new on-site feature: classic adult film and video scenes, which begin October 10 with a vintage of John Holmes and Little Oral Annie, from 1985's Passion Pit.
Shot on 35mm cameras, the scene will be offered to Redboard.com members for free, but if you just want to see the scene without becoming a member, you can have a three-day access for $4.95.
At first, Redboard mastermind Duck Dumont told AVN.com they weren't sure they could offer it for less than $7.95 for 24-hour access. "But our credit company said we couldn't do it for just one day," he said, "so I opted for the three-day access." They originally wanted to offer a $4.99, 24-hour access, Dumont said, but they feared it would have been cost prohibitive.
Either way, he said, it still came out a good deal when all was said and done.
It's part of Redboard's new look – a blue-dominant motif with red-white-and-blue trim – and new program of introducing two new scene showings on site each week, one a classic from their archives and one a contemporary scene, plus a new hardcore scene shot exclusively for the Website once a month. The first, starring Kym Wilde, will also premiere October 10.
"It seemed like an easier way to do things," Dumont said of the company's new, more pronounced Website activity. "That's the way so much stuff is getting done and promoted, anyway."
Among other new or revamped features – columns by Henri Pachard and Jamie Gillis, pay-per-view video, video shopping, free bonus pictures, and more – will be a section offering free viewings of bloopers, including the two on site at this writing, from Debbie Does Fem-Dom 4 and Torment 19.
Dumont, whose passions include classic comedy and the famed outtakes and bloopers from old-time radio and television (he admits he took his professional name from the legendary original fourth network, which eventually collapsed and morphed over time into what is now Fox Television), said collecting funny adult bloopers is much easier said than done.
"What happened was, the first one with Kym Wilde was hysterical. But they're hard to get. I tried a couple of people trying to make fake bloopers, but they were horrible. We've been collecting bloopers for almost a year, but I only have two. I thought, oh, we'll get dozens of them, but they're really lame. The (excised scenes or bloopers) that actually funny are really rare."
