NEW YORK—This Sunday will see the official opening of Pretty Filthy, the long-gestating musical created by New York theater group The Civilians, who, in addition to laying the groundwork for the musical in collaboration with Los Angeles' Center Theatre Group in 2011, engaged in a Kickstarter campaign last year in support of the Off-Broadway production that is now in previews, with an official run of Feb. 8 through March 1, 2015, at the Abrons Arts Center Henry Street Settlement's Playhouse Theater.
A brief post on TheaterMania.com announcing the opening notes, "With music and lyrics by Michael Friedman and a book by Bess Wohl, Pretty Filthy draws on extensive interviews and research to tell the stories of people trying to make a living in the adult-entertainment industry."
