City officials have filed suit in San Bernadino Superior Court in an attempt to shut down Diamonds Gentlemen’s Club on Foothill Boulevard.
The suit claims that the club does not have the necessary permits to operate at the present location. Club owners Irma Lynn Diaz and Joe Diaz applied for a license in 2005. The city refused to grant the license, citing two code violations. The club’s proximity to a housing development and an elementary school also factor into the Diamonds suit.
Attorney Roger Jon Diamond told dailybulletin.com that the city is simply giving his clients “a hard time,” arguing that Fontana has not provided sufficient room for adult-oriented businesses.
A judge will hear the case on Jan. 12.
