NEW YORK CITY—The Big Apple's grungy and artsy Lower East Side will be the hot spot in to be at on Saturday, February 11th with the CineKink Film Festival premiere screening of adult superstar, indie producer and celebrity DJ Brittany Andrews' first feature-length documentary entitled Stage Brother.
Stage Brother focuses on the strong brother/sister relationship between Oxygen reality star Jennifer Buonagurio (from Season 6 of The Bad Girls' Club) and her overprotective brother (filmmaker Richard Buonagurio) as she pursues her dreams of fame in Hollywood and ponders entering the world of adult entertainment. The doc explores the trials and tribulations of her defiant Catholic Jersey family and the cross-country journey to Hollywood as her brother steps in to manage her controversial career goals and document her every move on camera.
Miss Andrews also appears in the doc as mentor and voice of reason for Jennifer.
"I have taken on the role of Jennifer's mentor—sort of her MTV-made coach," said Miss Andrews. "I guide Jen through the pros and cons of the industry and try to help her navigate if she really wants to take this route to fame. We also explore the highs and the lows of the business and look to see at what length Jen will go for her dream of fame in Hollywood."
"This also is my first feature-length documentary," Miss Andrews continued "which has always been a dream of mine, to do a documentary. The process of making the doc was an insightful journey on learning to let the story breathe and develop. We originally started out focusing on the theme of a young girl breaking into the adult industry, but as we filmed, it evolved into such a more meaningful story about brother/sister relationships. The team behind it has put a lot of work into showing all sides of the story—even to the point of the entire family falling apart in the process of filming. However they have all made up and are stronger from the entire experience. We are all excited to have it premiere at the CineKink Film Festival. All of my recent mainstream film projects have been winning lots of prestigious awards; I believe, 14 so far this year. I am very excited for people to be able to view this film as it came out so fabulously well. I think everyone will really enjoy this film and this family."
