Christina Rodriguez Fundraiser Brings Industry Generosity

Red Light District and Platinum X held a fundraiser for RLD employee Christina Rodriguez at Forbidden City in Hollywood on Friday night. The companies made several additions to the event, adding sponsors, a silent auction and appearances by several adult stars.

Rodriguez, who has worked with a variety of companies in the adult industry for the last fifteen years, is currently battling stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The companies planned the fundraiser to raise money in assisting the mother of two in her quest to return to full health.

“Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly,” Rodriguez told AVN.com.

“I want to thank everyone very much for everything.”

“The night went really well,” said Debbie Schwarz, manager-reviewer at RLD, who originally facilitated the event. “We raised a good amount of money, and a lot of people showed up.”

Larry Schwarz, director of public relations at RLD, told AVN.com that the event was a complete success.

The evening brought out plenty of industry people, including Derek Hay, owner of LA Direct Models, who brought several of his adult starlets along, including Tory Lane, Jezebelle Bond, Emilianna, Denice K., Leola Jossi, Carly Parker and Sophia Lynn. The starlets made themselves available for photographs and autographs for donations.

“The LA Direct girls did such a great job,” said Debbie Schwarz. “They raised a lot of money signing autographs…they were great.”

In addition to the LA Direct girls, Sunny Lane, RLD owner David Joseph, Manuel Ferrara, Juan Cuba, John Strong, Lindsay Kay, DCypher, Destiny, Zoe Mathews and Nicki Hunter all showed up.

Initially sponsored by Red Light District and Platinum X, and organized by Debbie Schwarz, the companies were soon joined by Absolutenightlife.com and Opium Hollywood, on behalf of the night’s venue, Forbidden City. Music was provided by Hollywood DJ, David Rockwell.

Seth Marsh provided sports and entertainment memorabilia for a silent auction – everything from an autographed portrait of the Sopranos to a boxing glove signed by pugilist legend, Muhammed Ali. Promoter Johnny Barroco also auctioned off a gift certificate for plastic surgery/breast enhancement.
