Child Porn Cop Behind Bars

A police officer from Notts said to have downloaded over a thousand child porn images from an American Website was sentenced to twelve months in jail March 20, just days after his police career ended with his sacking from his force.

Christopher Lilley got landed with a little help from the FBI, who supplied information to England's Operation Ore inquiries. Lilley reportedly had a collection of porn photos and videos involving children, including one image in which he superimposed the head of a child he knew himself onto another naked image, according to This Is Nottingham.

Notts police superintendent Mick Layton, who heads the force's professional standards unit, said in a statement he hoped Lilley's sentencing reassured the public. "These offenses affect all classes and professions...the force will not tolerate this kind of behavior," Layton said.

Lilley reportedly visited an American child porn site ten times between November 1998 and July 1999, prosecutors told his sentencing hearing.
