Kimberly Sands, an 18-year-old freshman at East Tennessee State University, never thought twice about working as a waitress at the local Hooters restaurant.
That was true until three weeks ago when the pretty blonde was kicked out of the school’s cheerleading squad for working at the eatery, WBIR-TV reported.
Sams said she was called into a locker room and dismissed from the squad by its coach, Tammy Bartow who cited the off-campus job as the reason. The restaurant is known for the high-riding shorts and tight-fitting tank tops its waitresses wear.
Sams hopes she’ll be reinstated, but the school would not comment on the matter, due to student privacy laws. For their part, the restaurant chain issued a statement supporting Sams and urging the school to reinstate her.
