Cell Phone Rig Spied on Showering Women: Report

Rigging a camera-fitted cell phone and a mirror to capture images of women in the shower got a 48-year-old man charged with voyeurism last week.

Police told reporters Kevin Lambrechts attached the cell phone and the mirror to sticks to spy on women showering at a Seminole County campground, but was caught when one woman screamed as an insect landed on her and her husband responded—and noticed Lambrechts outside the building with a machete.

Lambrechts left the area at once, police said, but the woman spotted mirrors in the ceiling and the couple called 911, with officers finding Lambrecht's unique camera phone rig built into holes in the ceiling.

"What we found was a mirror set up that included two mirrors set up somewhat like a child's periscope," Seminole County Sheriff's Lt. Barry Smith told WKMG-TV. "One mirror was set up in the outside eave of the building and the second mirror was set up just inside the wall."

Lambrecht reportedly denied being near the shower facility or knowing the unique voyeurism rig was there, but WKMG said police have stepped up patrols at the campground.
