Starlet Carmen Luvana loves a good challenge, and the Adam & Eve contract performer definitely got one with Adam & Eve Productions' upcoming release, O - The Power of Submission.
Luvana stars as the title’s complex central character, O. “I first noticed that there were about 50 pages of dialogue for this movie, and I was on every single page,” Luvana told AVN.com. “I am used to having some down time during a movie, here and there, but as soon as the set changed, I was up and going again.
“I was a little nervous at first, but I ended up having no problem delivering my lines and the sex scenes were great. It really boosted my confidence.
“I’m extremely excited about this movie.”
O - The Power of Submission is an homage to the erotic 1954 book, “The Story of O,” and is helmed by veteran director Ernest Greene. “Carmen is the new, liberated, self-determined O,” Greene said of Luvana.
Greene said that since its publication, “The Story of O” has been frequently misunderstood and turned into exactly what it is not; merely a book about BDSM. Intent on eradicating this perception, Greene revised the story and brought forth what he sees as the inherently sexual context of the important work.
“We tried to be as scrupulous as possible in preserving the story elements of the original work,” said Greene. “It won’t disappoint fans of the source material and will still pack a potent erotic punch for audiences who have never read the book.”
“I’ve had a passion for this story since I first read it,” said Adam & Eve Pictures executive producer, MAC. “Determined to bring it to the screen, I wanted to wait until I found a director equally as dedicated to work with. I couldn’t have asked for a better partnership than with Ernest Greene. This is a watershed project for Adam & Eve Pictures.”
Re-set in contemporary Los Angeles, the title is cast with modern performers like Luvana, who embrace their pervertedness by giving and receiving whippings and spankings as well as some hot sex.
“I had a chance to read the book and the script before doing the movie, and I really fell in love with it,” continued Luvana. “It got me that much more excited about starring in it.”
Luvana explained that she does three sex scenes in the movie, including a g/g tryst with Justine Joli, an anal scene with Evan Stone, and a g/g/b threeway. “I’ve talked in a lot of interviews about how hard it is to cum in a scene, but I had two or three orgasms in every one of the scenes for this movie,” said the starlet.
“This is my third movie that has a BDSM theme, and I’m really starting to appreciate that scene, and find my connection to it.”
In addition to Luvana, the cast of O - The Power of Submission also includes Kylie Ireland, Shayla LaVeaux, Jolie, Adrianna Nicole, Claire Adams, Angeles Black, Stone and Tommy Gunn.
AVN Hall of Famer Nina Hartley also makes an appearance as Marie, the older, wiser choreographer of the sexual action taking place in her estate (shot on location at a Frank Lloyd Wright house in Hollywood).

O - The Power of Submission will ship on Sept. 16. The DVD will be available for a limited time in a deluxe collector set which includes the 2-disc set and bonus gift.
