Carmen Luvana Goes On Loan to Third Degree for Dreamgirlz

Finding Carmen Luvana at work on a Third Degree Films set would come as a surprise if one didn't know that the Adam & Eve exclusive was there as a one-shot loan-out.

In a reciprocal talent exchange, Courtney Cummz, contracted to Zero Tolerance, Third Degree's parent company, was loaned to Adam & Eve to co-star with Luvana in Eden, their upcoming Hawaii-shot blockbuster.

So Carmen is doing her part of the trade in Third Degree's Dreamgirlz, directed by Mike Quasar. Chaperoned by A&E publicist Mischa Allen, she's in a hillside house in Encino, getting ready to shoot the box cover. In the photo she's joined by fellow hotties Bree Olson and Amy Reid. An image of the fourth star, Jenna Haze, will be added later.

Third Degree's head honcho Joey Wilson explained that this was a departure for Zero Tolerance: it's their first vignette style movie.

Unlike the pure gonzo they usually purvey, the new, ongoing Dreamgirlz series will have brief story setups in each scene. That's what plays best on broadcast, a market area into which, Wilson said, Third Degree is "rapidly expanding."

Luvana's scene is actually a double departure: the first time a condom has ever been seen in a Third Degree movie. The star is condom-only, no matter where she works, and that goes for her scene with Manuel Ferrara, to be shot later in the day at a different location.

The setup deals specifically with condom use, with Carmen as a stripper who goes home with a club patron; as perfect strangers, they decide it might be wise to practice safer sex.

Luvana, looking gorgeous as usual, with a bit of extra tan from two weeks in Hawaii, told AVN she couldn't be happier about the trade-off with Cummz.

"I haven't worked for another company in so long," she said. "But all the girls in this movie are hot. Bree does incredible scenes.

"I only just met Courtney in Hawaii, but she's super-sweet. She did so great for us in Eden. Our scene together was the hottest girl-girl I've ever done. It was on the beach and we were coming out of the water, almost like mermaids. I was so turned on, it didn't feel like work."

It was one of Luvana's three sex scenes in Eden. She joins Cummz in a threeway with French actor Jean Val Jean, in a mountain forest, and she has a one on one with Jerry, one of her preferred partners ("I always request him"), on a yacht. "Everybody got seasick," she said, "the whole crew."

Every two months or so, Luvana commutes from her home in Florida to wherever Adam & Eve is shooting—Waikiki, Chatsworth or points beyond.

She's happy living in Florida. "My passion is being on the beach. L.A.'s just not me," she smiled. And it's close to her native Puerto Rico, which she visits three times a year.

She also feature-dances once a month—her next gig is in Allentown, PA—works all the conventions and promotes the company at Adam & Eve store openings, most recently one in Massachusetts.

The Eden shoot was hard, she said, because of being always "on the run," moving around to various natural locations and dodging buses of tourists who were there to see the sights but not the sex.

Up next for Luvana with Adam & Eve is a new Interactive title, which she said will improve on the first one she did, Get Off with Carmen Luvana. "It was a first-time [interactive] director, and there were technical difficulties." This time, she promises, it'll all be done right, with tracks in English and Spanish.

She'll also be making her debut as a director for a movie scheduled to start production at the end of July, with Andre Madness as co-director. "I have the ideas, but I want an expert with me," she said.

Dreamgirlz, starring Carmen Luvana, Jenna Haze, Amy Reid and Bree Olson, will be released by Third Degree Films in September.
