Carey Attends GOP Dinner, Makes TV Appearances

Mary Carey recently appeared on Fox News’ “Your World with Neil Cavuto” and MSNBC’s “Scarborough Country.”

The now-exclusive contract performer for Legend talked with Cavuto and Scarborough about her recent attendance at the “United to Victory” dinner with President Bush. Carey went to the Republican dinner at the invitation of the National Republican Congressional Committee, and she was able meet and interact with Congressional leaders and administration officials.

Carey garnered national attention in June 2005 when she attended a similar dinner with Bush, in which she was accompanied by her former employer, Kick Ass Pictures President Mark Kulkis.

“I did this one on my own,” Carey told AVN.com. “I wanted to show people that I don’t need someone telling me what to say when I make statements and attend these sorts of events.”

The starlet said of last Thursday's “United to Victory” dinner, “It was really great to attend the event. Everyone was very supportive of me at the dinner, and afterward, a bunch of people did shots with me at the bar.”

She went on to comment that, “There were all these fiscally conservative guys hitting on me.” Carey even admitted to “Scarborough Country” host Joe Scarborough that she “got hit on more at the dinner than I did at the AVN Awards Show.”

“It was also different from the AVN show, because at the dinner I had to sit at the third from the last table,” she explained to AVN.com. “At the AVN Awards, of course, I was right up front.”

Carey explained that she plans on attending some Democratic events in the future to “find out what their stance is all about. I still plan on going on the ballot as an Independent, so I want to get as many ideas as I can from both Republicans and Democrats.”

The starlet said that she will continue a similar platform in 2006, as her first run for governor in 2003. Carey said of her detractors, “I’m promoting making love and having sex, and I think that’s a lot better than the violence some other people are promoting.

“I might have sex on camera for a living, but that’s just my job. I’m sure a lot of priests do a lot more harmful things with their time than I do with mine.”

Carey will be announcing her California candidacy this May. Her first title under her exclusive contract with Legend, Mary Carey on the Rise, is available now.
