AVN Hall of Famer Candida Royalle, known for her femme line of erotica from a woman's point of view, is about to release her 15th video, a spoof of the adult industry called Stud Hunters. Stud Hunters is about a director and her star searching for the "perfect new stud." It spoofs everyone from the countless men who dream of being in adult movies to Candida herself, and stars award winner performers Alexandra Silk and Ava Vincent. Leila Swan, and a local dominatrix.
"The male leads are all my discoveries," Royalle said. "Women are tired of seeing the same five guys in every movie coming out of porn valley, and these new guys are unbelievably hot!"
When an article about Stud Hunters appeared in the New York Post's Page Six column prior to filming, Candida was besieged by countless wannabe studs some of whom are featured in the movie's mock auditions.
"We got so many guys emailing me photos. It was ridiculous, they thought they were real auditions," admitted Royalle.
The truth was, the project was already cast. Not that the men being used were professionals - they were normal men that had expressed an interest to Royalle previously.
"They all just wanted the experience. They aren't looking to be the next big studs - they just want to have done it," said Royalle, who handpicked the cast.
One man had contacted Royalle two years previously and had volunteer to be in a video. A friend of hers referred one of the guys, one guy volunteered himself at a lecture Royalle gave, and one man was active in amateur porn and was recommended for the project.
"They really worked out. They were great performers. Especially Johnny. He really had wood," said Royalle. "The sex scenes were really hot because this wasn't an everyday thing for them."
Adam & Eve will release Stud Hunters in June on both VHS and a special double DVD set that includes a "making-of" documentary and an extensive behind-the-scenes photo gallery. The film features a fun, urban-style hip-hop theme song composed by popular world beat musician Floyd F. Fisher, with lyrics written and recorded by Royalle herself.
"Stud Hunters features the hottest scene I've ever shot, but I'm not giving away any of the details!" Royalle teased.
Royalle continues to work on her Natural Contours line of discreet and ergonomically correct vibrators, with three new products in development. She also maintains her public speaking engagements, having most recently lectured on her work at State University of New York Fredonia and the Robert Woods Johnson Medical School.
