California Health Insurance For Adult Clubs Coming?

The California chapter of the National Cabaret Association says they've begun work with marketing professionals to put in place a statewide health insurance plan for those working in adult clubs, from club owners to workers and entertainers.

The plan would bring in "high quality insurance providers," notably Blue Cross, with its California Care HMO plan, deductible PPO plans and non-deductible PPO plans. The NCA says paperwork on the plans will be going around adult clubs within the coming month.

"We have an agreement on the table," said NCA lobbyist Mike Ross. "It won't be our 'political focus,' but we'll help sell insurance to employees and entertainers and within the next 60 days, will expand the program to create a national health insurance program."

Ross tells AVN On The Net the program would be open to everyone in the industry, while the NCA earns commissions for everyone participating in the plan to help its lobbying efforts and other programs.

Three different plans will cost between $90-125 per month, depending on variables like age, health, dependents and the particular plan chosen. Those interested can get registration material at www.exoticdancernetwork.com.
