Calendar Features Nude Olympic Curlers

Lynsay Ryan doesn’t mind taking her clothes off if it helps raise funds to train athletes.

The 21-year-old Ryan is a Canadian provincial curling champion and she's also the daughter of Olympic gold medalist in curling, Penny Schartz-Henderson, and world champion Pat Ryan. She is also just one of the world-class curlers featured in the nude benefit calendar making its rounds at the Winter Olympics in Turin. It is also featured in the current issue of Playboy.

The Ana Arce Team Sponsorship Calendar features models in black and white photos without their uniforms or anything else, for that matter, making some of the sport's purists uneasy. But for Arce, who sponsors the calendar and who herself is an elite curler, the photos were done in good taste.

She is the featured model for May.

“I think it’s going to change the image of the sport which I think is not so nice,” she told the Canadian Broacasting Co.

“I’ve been playing for eight years and there are so many beautiful girls playing, but nobody knows it.”

Arce, who is also a photographer, said she came up with the idea last year to help struggling curlers pay for their training and give publicity to the sport.

Women representing Austria, Canada, England, Germany, Italy, Spain and Poland were represented in the calendar which is available through calendar co-sponsor, the Canada-based The Curling News.

The calendar is available online at www.thecurlingnews.com.
