Caballero, the biggest-name company of porn’s Golden Age, has embarked on a project of re-releasing its treasure-trove of classic adult movies on DVD.
Dick Lane, Caballero sales manager, told AVN.com, “There’s tremendous interest in the classics now. Not just from older customers and nostalgia fans, but from younger buyers who are seeing these movies for the first time.
“Internet companies love it because it’s what their customers want. It’s not just for the nostalgia crowd but for new customers who want to see big productions with incredible looking women.”
With 300 titles in the catalog, Caballero is shipping its remastered, repackaged DVDs at the rate of 25 per month. “We’ll do 25 a month until we hit 300,” Lane said. Already in release are 125 titles.
New releases for December include such movies as Beverly Hills Cox, Glitter, Ecstasy Girls II, Liquid Lover and Private Schoolgirls.
In addition there is a series of 4-packs aimed at fans of particular stars, such as Vanessa Del Rio, Seka, Ginger Lynn, and Ron Jeremy. Four 6-packs focus on John Holmes (two volumes), Andrew Blake and Legends of Porn.
