CHILEAN ACTRESS LEAVES THE GLASS HOUSE

Actress Daniella Tobar has decided people who live in glass houses should not have stones thrown at them, so to say - she's moving out of the unusual and controversial art house project which raised as many hackles and heckles as public awareness about Chilean privacy issues.

The idea was the brainchild of two architects sponsored by the Chilean government's arts fund, Fondart. Tobar agreed to live in the 8'x 8' house in downtown Santiago as part of the experiment, but the project grew crowds of men and boys jamming the area trying to catch the attractive actress in the buff.

Which, apparently is what they did when Tobar her morning shower. The experiment, in turn, triggered a small firestorm around the country, including lawsuits and threats against the actress. Four days after she moved in, a crowd attacked a young woman they mistook for Tobar and stripped her to her underwear.

Now Tobar has left the house. It stands empty in downtown Santiago, for now.
