Actor-director Buck Adams is back to blowing up cars and unleashing special effects in A.G.P. (All Girl Protection), a new series for Antigua Pictures.
In the early 1990s, Adams created an action-porn genre all his own with such big-budget movies as Radioactive, Legal Tender, Public Enemy and Speedtrap. His gimmick was to combine hardcore sex with Hollywood-style airplane and helicopter stunts, gun battles, car races, explosions.
Now as an Antigua exclusive, he’s pushing the action buttons again. A. G. P., he told AVN.com, is “a big heavy HD feature with race cars and explosions and car chases.”
He calls “Beach Patrol,” its first episode, “Babe Watch on steroids,” referring to the long-running series he started at Sin City in 1994.
The biggest difference between A.G.P. and his earlier action flicks is its being shot in Hi-Definition. Adams is again working with legendary porn cinematographer Jack Remy, who shot many of his ‘90s pictures. “If I’m going to do something big I want the best photography I can get,” he said.
The cast includes newly signed Vivid Girl Lexi Marie—“she’s the kind of Pam Anderson character”—Vanessa Lane and Shy Love. “There’s a whole pack of people in it,” Adams said.
Last Monday night, a triple explosion stunt with a car got out of hand, causing a “huge fire” and panicking a crowd of spectators. The fire was quickly brought under control by a couple of hook and ladder trucks. But the scene, Adams said, was chaotic.
“When they were hearing the tires explode from the burning, people started running. It just kind of turned into madness. When you see the Behind the Scenes footage, it looks much worse than it was. But it was pretty bad,” he chuckled.
“Here I was just expecting it would be my giant explosion, let the car burn for 15 seconds, the fire truck would pull up, put everything out. It just didn’t seem to work out that way.”
Adams also shot some stock car racing sequences, with himself as one of the drivers, at Willow Springs raceway.
He said the A.G.P. series will have the three elements he deems essential for success: “High quality, hot chicks and good sex. It worked with Babe Watch in the old days, and it’s still the same formula I’m using.”
Adams, an AVN and XRCO Hall of Famer, has been shooting for Antigua for about three months. “This is like my fifth production here,” he said. “I’m extremely happy. I get along with the people—they can tolerate my madness when I get close to a shoot.”
According to an Antigua spokesman, the plan is to release one volume of A.G.P. every other month beginning in March.
