Brown to Head Waat Media’s Mobile TV Unit

Waat Media Wireless Entertainment has named former Playboy TV executive Marc A. Brown to head the company’s Mobile television division.

Brown will direct Waat’s mobile TV programming and operations and manage the company’s growth in the rapidly expanding sector. He will be responsible for the streaming and broadcast of content from gaming, information, and adult producers to international mobile carriers.

His skill sets are ideal for the fast-moving mobile content delivery environment.”

Brown moves to Waat Media from Playboy Enterprises Inc., where he spent 14 years, most recently as vice president-Convergence and Broadband. At Playboy he spearheaded initiatives in interactive and mobile technologies and expanded Playboy’s online subscription offerings to include Playboy TV-branded and Spice-branded pay sites. He also created cross-channel television campaigns to market Playboy TV programming to cable and satellite audiences.

Prior to his tenure at Playboy, Brown was a producer for KCET-TV, the Los Angeles public television station, where he handled on-air promos for network and locally produced programs.

Brown has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s of fine arts from Columbia University. His professional affiliations include Promax/BDA, MoMeMo:LA, Digital Coast Roundtable, Interactive Television Alliance, and the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM).
