LOS ANGELES—AVN Hall of Fame director/performer Brad Armstrong's much-hyped drama Aftermath, his follow-up to 2014 AVN Movie of the Year Underworld, arrives today from Wicked Pictures as a deluxe, two-disc DVD set.
Featuring XRCO New Stud Tyler Nixon, AVN/XRCO Award nominee Ryan Driller and starring three-time AVN Best Actress winner Jessica Drake as the woman who loves them both, this twisted tale of forbidden love is earning Armstrong some of the best reviews of his career, with AVN already awarding it a perfect AAAAA Editor's Choice review that credits the moviemaker with “creating a story that engages the mind, emotions and senses equally.”
Adult DVD Talk gave the movie similar applause, calling it “every bit as good, if not better, than most of what mainstream Hollywood is currently putting out.”
Specially packaged in a gatefold sleeve featuring Drake, Nixon and such co-stars as Wicked Girl and former AVN Performer of the Year Asa Akira, reigning Performer of the Year Bonnie Rotten, MILF star Brandi Love and oft-hailed actor Xander Corvus, Wicked's two-disc release is packed with material. In addition to the three-hour, eight-scene feature (which was shot on location in Los Angeles and New York), the title also features two "Director's Cut" sex scenes as well as three bonus sex scenes. Other exclusives include video interviews with Drake and Nixon shot in Times Square, still galleries, trailers and much more.
Armstrong is understandably proud of the reception his latest epic is receiving, commenting, “I couldn’t be happier with all the early buzz about Aftermath—the response from the press has been incredible. I can't wait for Wicked's fans to check it out for themselves!"
For her part, Drake offered, "I'm grateful to Brad Armstrong and Wicked for another incredible feature movie, and I thank everyone for their reviews." Armstrong and Drake are showing their appreciation for the movie's critical reception with a special press gathering this week, during which they and co-star Nixon will participate in a special group Q&A with some of the West Coast editors and reviewers who've heaped pre-release praise on the title.
