Brad Armstrong Celebrates Best Director, Film Victories

"You really couldn't have a better night," said director Brad Armstrong, celebrating the success of his Wicked Pictures films Manhunters and FUCK at the 24th Annual AVN Awards. "We hit on all cylinders – acting, directing, the movies, the cameramen – all the people who make my job so easy got recognized tonight, and I couldn't be happier."

Armstrong took home the Best Director – Film award for his work on Manhunters, which beat out acclaimed entries from Paul Thomas, Andrew Blake and Jenna Jameson in AVN's Best Film competition. The slick action feature about four sexy bounty hunters also nabbed three additional awards, including a Best Actor prize for Randy Spears. Armstrong's bounty increased as the night went on, with his movie FUCK winning five trophies.

"I'm just as happy when people win [for] acting, and cameramen win awards, and all that stuff, because I know just how hard they work," Armstrong said. "Tonight, I got lucky, too, and I hit a couple myself. I haven't had a good night like this since Euphoria. We won thirteen [AVN awards] – tonight, it was split between FUCK and Manhunters, and then a couple of other ones on the side there. So it was a really good night for Wicked. We're really ecstatic."

After posing for photographers in the backstage media room, Armstrong headed off for a victory celebration. "I had a really bad night last night, and I was thinking, if I don't win, I'm not even wasting my time going out partying," he laughed. "But I guess now I kind of have to – I'm going to let the entourage figure out where I'm going; that way, it's not my fault."
