Bobby Manila Carves Niche in Interracial Genre for Doghouse Digital

Doghouse Digital’s non-exclusive contract director, Bobby Manila, is creating three new interracial series for the company.

Black Bros and White Hos, in stores November 17, has a blonde theme — a popular color contrast for fans of interracial.

“When you shoot interracial, people tend to gravitate toward the blondes,” Manila told AVN.com. “The contrast is the greatest with blondes — they are just total opposites.”

Bobby Manila would know; interracial has been his specialty since he started working in adult three years ago, after graduating from CSUN with a degree in film.

“I just fell into the interracial niche and that’s what I’m strong at,” Manila said. “I’m not a director who was just given a deal out of nowhere. I paid my dues holding camera for a bunch of people before I got here.”

Manila began his career shooting for various Internet companies, then got a line with Avalon — Black Attack Gangbang, now in its tenth volume. He credits that series with launching his career in earnest. Platinum X director Sean Michaels and Khan Tusion both began hiring him to shoot after seeing his work on interracial gangbangs.

Now Doghouse Digital has hired him for three interracial lines. Besides Black Bros and White Hos, Manila has also created Black Bros and Asian Hos, and hasn’t decided whether to create a black/black or a black/latin line for his third Doghouse series.

“Doghouse believes in me and what I can do, and I’m proud to shoot for them,” Manila said.

Manila noted that by specializing in interracial, he has the advantage of knowing the terrain better than most.

“I’ve been shooting interracial for a while. I already know which girls do interracial, who the hot ones are, who the guys are that can perform well, and which guys work together well.”

“You can’t just walk in and shoot an interracial. Then, it’s hit or miss. I know how to put the right people together in each scene and it shows in final product,” Manila said.
